Another new year! Woohoo! I love a fresh year. 2017 was AMAZING since we welcomed our new baby boy to our family. I will remember 2017 as one of my favorite years ever. Challenging, yes; but full of snuggles and kisses and hugs and baby giggles. Nothing sweeter.
Looking back on my 2017 goals and plans, I pretty much dominated there. Well, except for those be active daily and cut back on sugar goals. But everything else I completed and if I haven’t completed them yet (breastfeeding!), it’s going super well.
I don’t have many personal goals for 2018, other than mostly to just survive (#parenting). But I have been thinking about this and these are my 2 major personal goals for next year:
- Be active for 10 minutes every day.
- Meditate/be mindful/breathe for 2 minutes every day.
Aiming small, right?! Haha. I figure I can carve out 12 minutes every day to do something little. Any mama of littles knows that there is hardly any time for self-care, but I know any little bit of self-care indirectly benefits my babies, so these 2 things are important to me.
As far as the meditation/breathing/mindfulness goal, I have been practicing that for awhile now, but I want to make sure this practice continues. I downloaded the Calm app a few months ago and did the 7-day beginner course and it was SO helpful! Now I remind myself often throughout the day to just notice, be aware, and thank my thoughts in a non
Other than my 12 minutes of self-care :), 2018 will be spent laughing with my preschooler, watching my baby learn to crawl, walk, and talk (TEAR), and trying not to cry over the fact that they are growing up WAY TOO FAST.
Happy new year!
